Resources for Local Citizen Monitoring
Research reports, case reviews, papers, and other knowledge products that attempt to bring together, identify links, and draw out insights from various citizen monitoring experiences or from available literature on social accountability and good governance work.
News items, feature articles, project documentation, evaluation reports and similar materials on experiences and results of social accountability initiatives. Archive allows citizen groups to share updates on status of on-going projects and view information on completed projects.
Briefers, infographics, and other materials providing basic information on citizen entitlements and responsibilities, and on services that local governments are mandated to provide (including processes for planning, budgeting, expenditure management, and performance monitoring).
Samples of data-gathering instruments and guides that citizen groups in the country have used to check on government programs and services, towards demanding accountability from public officials. Can be adapted and customized for use in other areas or projects.
Include text and multimedia products like training designs, manuals, and instructional videos that trainers and facilitators can use to support learning and capacity building of key actors – citizen groups and public officials – for social accountability work.
